Method
The browser aligns unchanged lines using a longest-common-subsequence comparison. Added, removed and changed lines are shown separately; case, spaces and punctuation are significant.
Worked example
Adding a new line before “Ship Monday” marks only that line as added, while the later matching lines stay aligned.
Limits to know
Up to 350 lines per side. This is a line-level comparison, not a word-level or semantic review; moved lines may appear as a removal and an addition.

Frequently asked questions
Is the comparison case-sensitive?
Yes. Uppercase, lowercase, spaces and punctuation must match for a line to be marked identical.
Does it detect moved or rewritten paragraphs?
No. This version compares rows in the same position; it is not a semantic or word-level diff.

No. Both texts remain in your browser and are not sent to our server.
